Harley is a 5 month old Border Collie/Blue Heeler mix. She needs a home that can provide her with exercise and be committed to continue with her basic training. A rural indoor home would be preferred, but we will take that case by case. When she came to HEART, she had no prior structure. After being in foster care, she has learned to sit, shake, drop, roll over, leave it and doing fantastic with healing exercises. She has developed a great foundation for further training. She still needs reminders to stay "down" when she jumps up on people, but she is just a puppy yet. She is extremely intelligent, LOVES to train and learns very quickly. Very energetic and food motivated. She has the potential to be as awesome as her new family wants her to be and trains her to be.
She is in foster care with dogs her size and smaller. She gets along with all dogs, but her need to play and wrestle is a bit relentless. She has herding instincts and her way of playing could be annoying to another dog, so we will take that case by case. She does seem more relaxed and manageable when she is in the home without the other dogs around, so that would be ideal for her. She loves human attention!
She does not hate cats, but she will chase and pick on them, so that is why we recommend no cats.
She never has accidents in the house, and has begun to go to the door when she needs to go out. She has been kenneled at night and occasionally for a few hours during the day.
Her adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, vaccinations, heartgard preventative, flea/tick preventative, wormer, microchip and general care and training with HEART. Please submit an application at www.heartrescueteam.com.
