KQ98 CARES FOR JULY: COULEECAP

Opportunity. Equity. Community. That’s the mission driving Couleecap, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting poverty and empowering people across Crawford, La Crosse, Monroe, and Vernon counties in Wisconsin. As a 501(c)(3) community action agency, Couleecap has been making a difference since 1966—serving over 1 million people through more than 248 programs.

In 2024 alone, 23,435 individuals were supported with over $12.6 million in services, including housing assistance, eviction prevention, food access, and education support. Couleecap’s work addresses both urgent needs and long-term solutions to help people achieve economic and social mobility.
