Written by on July 6, 2026

The North American box office welcomed a new champion this weekend as “Minions & Monsters” claimed the top spot with an impressive $36.4 million debut. While the opening marks the lowest launch in the franchise’s history, the animated adventure still exceeded expectations by taking first place. Strong reviews from critics and the franchise’s massive merchandising potential are expected to keep the film performing well in the weeks ahead.

Pixar’s “Toy Story 5” continued its successful run, earning another $31 million to secure second place. The beloved sequel remains a favorite among families and shows no signs of slowing down.

Meanwhile, “Supergirl” experienced a steep 74% drop in its second weekend, falling to fourth with $9.6 million. Rounding out the top five was “Disclosure Day,” which added $6 million to its box office total.
