FAMILY DOG RESCUES BOY FROM CHARGING BLACK BEAR

A Connecticut family’s husky is being hailed as a hero after a heart-stopping encounter with a black bear was caught on a home security camera. The video shows a young boy standing in his driveway when a black bear suddenly charges toward him. Before the bear could get any closer, the family’s husky sprinted across the yard, placing itself between the child and the bear. The fearless dog chased and circled the bear until it turned away and slid underneath a nearby boat before fleeing the area.

Homeowner Jeffrey Tazzara told ABC News that while the dog has always been protective of the children, this was the first time they truly saw her instincts put to the test. As a reward for her bravery, he joked she’ll be getting a well-deserved T-bone steak.

The incident also serves as a reminder that Connecticut’s growing black bear population has led to more encounters near homes. Wildlife officials recommend keeping your distance, making noise to alert bears to your presence, never feeding them, removing food attractants like bird feeders, and reporting sightings to local wildlife authorities. Thanks to one courageous husky, this frightening encounter ended with everyone safe.
