NYPD INVESTIGATING AFTER PEOPLE EMERGE OUT OF SEWER MANHOLE

New York City police are investigating another strange video showing three people climbing out of a Manhattan manhole near Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. The video, posted to TikTok, shows the individuals wearing overalls and what appear to be headlamps as they emerge from the manhole around 4 a.m. Tuesday.

The NYPD says there have been no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing. City officials inspected the nearby sewer system and found no damage, but warned that entering sewers is illegal and extremely dangerous because of toxic gases, flooding, unstable surfaces and confined spaces.

The incident has drawn comparisons to a series of similar videos from May, when groups of people were seen emerging from manholes in Brooklyn and Queens. Authorities previously believed those individuals may have been scavenging for valuables. Police found no immediate threat to the public at that time. It remains unclear whether the latest incident is connected.
