Brad Paisley & His Wife Help Deliver Nearly 1.3 Million Meals with Free Grocery Store

“This has been our dream,” Kimberly Williams-Paisley tells PEOPLE. “People will be able to come and shop with dignity and make choices for their family.”

Brad Paisley and his wife Kimberly explained that around Thanksgiving, 8-years ago, their children were acting spoiled and they wanted to show them the reality of people who were struggling with hunger and other issues they were taking for granted. A phone call to a friend led them to the Unity Shoppe, a free grocery store in Santa Barbara, California, that helps people with temporary food insecurity and puts a priority on respecting its clients. The entire family was inspired and touched, so they prepared to start their own store in Nashville. This video shares the whole story, and it’s quite inspirational!

“On March 12, 2020, in partnership with Belmont University, the couple opened The Store, a free referral-based grocery store in Nashville that works together with the university, which offers health and legal aid as well as music therapy to customers, to help people lift themselves out of food insecurity.”

It’s become their passion project, for their whole family. It’s always nice to see celebrities use their means and connections to give back!
