News Reporter Oblivious of Truck Rolling Into Water

Written by on August 2, 2021

A reporter for WCIS in Springfield, Illinois was on location at the banks of Lake Springfield covering a story when unbeknownst to him another story was developing behind his back.

The driver of a truck was unloading their boat from a ramp into the water and apparently forgot to put the emergency break on. The driver was not in the truck at the time nor was anyone else. As the reporter was doing his thing the truck slowly backed into the water behind him.

After the reporter was done, he turned around to see what was happening and let out a “gasp” before telling his camera person to keep rolling and “get this on camera” as the truck quickly sank. As he moves out of the way, you can see two men in the boat throwing their arms up as if saying, “great, now what do we do?”
