WHY DOES FRIDAY THE 13TH GIVE YOU AN UNEASY FEELING?

At least there’s only one Friday the 13th in 2025 to have to contend with.

No matter if you’re superstitious or not, Friday the 13th tends to give you an uneasy feeling. There’s a psychological term for it called, “illusory correlation”. It’s where you make connections with unrelated things. For example, you stub your toe on the coffee table and you blame it on it being an unlucky day instead of not paying attention.

If a day is chaotic and things aren’t going your way, we look to blame it on something.   And superstition gives our brains that thing to blame.
