In 1932 Mississippi, identical twins Smoke and Stack Moore return home after years working for the Chicago Outfit. With stolen money, they buy a sawmill from racist landowner Hogwood and open a juke joint for the Black community, joined by their musician cousin Sammie. As Sammie’s transcendent blues performance unknowingly summons spirits, danger lurks in the shadows. Irish vampire Remmick and his thralls, including Stack’s ex Mary, infiltrate the town, turning residents into vampires and unleashing chaos. Smoke and Sammie fight back, but not without loss. Smoke ultimately sacrifices himself after defeating Remmick, urging Sammie to follow his musical dreams. Sixty years later, a now-famous Sammie, haunted by the past, is reunited with a vampiric Stack and Mary, still offering immortality. He refuses, cherishing the memory of that fateful night—their one moment of true freedom. The story weaves music, folklore, racism, and horror into a Southern Gothic tale of resilience.
