MAN STRANDS HIS WIFE AT A GAS STATION; DIDN’T NOTICE FOR 200 MILES

A French couple’s road trip to Morocco took an unexpected turn when a 62-year-old man accidentally left his wife behind at a gas station—and didn’t realize until nearly 200 miles later.

The couple, traveling with their 22-year-old daughter (who was asleep in the back seat), departed Paris late Friday night to avoid traffic. Around 4:30 a.m., the man pulled into a gas station for fuel. Somewhere between the fill-up and getting back on the road, he drove off—without his wife.

It wasn’t until four hours later, after covering 186 miles, that he realized she was missing and called police. Problem: he couldn’t remember where he stopped. Thankfully, authorities tracked her down using her cell phone.

Though officers considered the possibility he ditched her intentionally, it was ruled an honest mistake. He picked her up—and presumably faced a much quieter, tenser drive as they resumed their vacation.
