NEW “OFFICE” SPINOFF, “THE PAPER” OUT NOW ON PEACOCK

Twenty years after The Office introduced viewers to the quirky employees of Dunder Mifflin, creator Greg Daniels returns with a new mockumentary: The Paper on Peacock. This time, the cameras turn to Ohio’s struggling Toledo Truth Teller, a once-proud newspaper now surviving mainly as a seller of toilet tissue under parent company Enervate.
Led by Domhnall Gleeson as Ned Sampson, a former toilet paper salesman turned editor-in-chief, the series dives into a newsroom filled with eccentric misfits—from Mare Pritti, a weary editor reduced to fluff stories, to Esmerelda Grand, a clickbait queen with mafia-wife flair. Even Oscar Nuñez reprises his role as Oscar, now part of Enervate’s accounting crew moonlighting as reporters.
Like The Office and Parks and Rec, the first episodes feel uneven, but by midseason the characters hit their stride. With sharp humor and heart, The Paper shows signs of becoming another Daniels classic.
