HALL OF FAME PITCHER EXPLAINS WHY HE DOESN’T SIGN JERSEYS

Randy Johnson autographed jerseys are among the rarest treasures in the sports memorabilia world — and now, fans finally know why.
During a recent signing at Mill Creek Sports in Washington, the Hall of Famer revealed that his refusal to sign jerseys has nothing to do with being difficult — it’s about helping others. Johnson explained that jerseys are the one item he reserves for charity, noting, “It’s the one thing that can raise money for charities… Everything else gets signed, but jerseys might raise a little bit more.”
Johnson has signed jerseys for causes supporting cystic fibrosis research, the homeless, and for servicemen and first responders. The secondary market shows just how scarce they are — with only a few authenticated examples selling for thousands.
So, while collectors may grumble at the scarcity, Johnson’s approach proves the Big Unit is still delivering — this time, for charity.
