SICK OF THE “6-7” CRAZE? CARRIE UNDERWOOD HAS THE SOLUTION

Written by on November 21, 2025

Carrie Underwood has officially stepped in with a hilarious solution for the latest kid-driven craze: saying “6-7” nonstop. If you’ve managed to avoid the trend, count yourself lucky—somehow “6-7” even snagged Dictionary.com’s 2025 Word of the Year, despite not being a word at all.

In a new promo for American Idol, a contestant brought up the phrase, and Carrie instantly delivered a playful cure. She broke into song, belting out, “Every time the kids say ‘6-7,’ we have to immediately say ‘5-3-0-9,’” set to the tune of Tommy Tutone’s classic “867-5309/Jenny.”

Her strategy? Make the comeback so catchy—and annoying—that kids eventually drop the trend altogether. “If we all band together and do that, it will stop,” she joked.

American Idol returns Monday, January 26th on ABC, with Carrie entering her second season as a judge, celebrating 20 years since her 2005 win.
