DEER BREAKS INTO CHRISTMAS STORE; GETS STUCK IN CHAIR

Written by on December 10, 2025

A Christmas-themed store in Jonesborough, Tennessee got an unexpected — and uninvited — holiday shopper last Friday morning. Gabriel’s Christmas and More found itself playing host to a four-legged customer when a deer crashed inside and took off on a festive tour. According to police, the curious animal sniffed ornaments, inspected garland, and even gave a nutcracker a suspicious side-eye, like it was checking prices before grabbing a sleigh-side deal.

Officers arrived to help their seasonal shoplifter find the exit, but the deer had other plans. It bolted through the store until it became stuck under a chair, giving police the perfect chance to gently pull it outdoors. With a quick “gotcha,” the deer was freed and sprinted away — no gifts purchased, no holiday discounts redeemed.

Store employees were stunned, laughing that the deer must simply have good taste. After all, if you’re hunting for last-minute Christmas gifts, why not start at the source?
