UK BUS COMPANY LISTS STRANGE THINGS LEFT IN THEIR LOST AND FOUND

If you’ve ever worried about losing something on public transit, take comfort in knowing you’re not alone — and that some passengers lose far stranger things than phones or keys. A British bus company is turning heads after revealing the most unusual items left behind on its buses last year, including a box of fortune cookies and an inflatable dinosaur costume.
The Oxford Bus Company logged more than 4,300 lost-and-found items in 2025, returning about 23 percent to their owners. While everyday essentials like wallets, umbrellas and mobile phones topped the list, the quirky discoveries stole the spotlight. Among them: a bag of rubber ducks, a baby bonsai tree, a potato with googly eyes, a 22-pound bag of rice and even a yoga mat covered in inspirational quotes.
Company officials say technology has helped reunite riders with misplaced belongings and reduce stress. Any unclaimed items are donated to local thrift stores, proving that even the strangest losses can still find a second life.
