OLYMPIC ATHLETES REVIEW VILLAGE DINING HALL FOOD

Olympic athletes have officially arrived at the Milan Olympic Village, and while they’re focused on winning medals, they’re also giving fans a peek at what’s on their plates. Food inside the Olympic Village has become a viral topic, especially after Norwegian swimmer Henrik Christiansen earned the nickname “Muffin Man” during the 2024 Paris Olympics thanks to his obsession with chocolate muffins. He recently joked on social media that he’s trying winter sports after running out of his favorite treat.
Now, winter athletes in Milan are sharing their own food reviews. South African cross-country skier Matt C. Smith kicked things off by rating Italian staples, giving pizza an impressive 8.5 out of 10 while calling the lasagna simply “good.” Meanwhile, Canadian hockey star Natalie Spooner, nicknamed “Chocolate Monster,” has been hunting for desserts but hasn’t been overly impressed.
However, Canadian speedskater Courtney Saurault may have found a winner with a molten chocolate dessert that has athletes buzzing—though the Muffin Man himself remains skeptical.
