FARMER USES DRONE TO HAUL PIG TO MARKET; CAUSES POWER OUTAGE

A farmer in southwestern China learned the hard way that not all pigs are meant to fly. In Tongjiang county, Sichuan province, the man attempted to use a drone to transport pigs from his remote mountain farm to a slaughterhouse. With roads difficult to navigate, drones seemed like a clever solution — until disaster struck.
During an early morning trip on January 24, the drone’s rope became tangled in a high-voltage power line while carrying its first pig. The result? One porker left dangling mid-air and an entire village without electricity for 10 hours. Repair crews worked through the day, with damages totaling about 10,000 yuan ($1,400).
Authorities say the drone may have been flying in a no-fly zone and was overloaded. Police are investigating, and the farmer could face fines and compensation costs.
The bizarre incident quickly went viral, with social media users joking about “flying pigs” and whether the animal was pre-cooked by the shock.
