KQ98 CARES FOR APRIL: NORTH AMERICAN SQUIRREL ASSOCIATION
Written by Jesse Skelley on March 31, 2026
The North American Squirrel Association (NASA) is dedicated to making the outdoors more accessible, inclusive, and educational for all. With a strong mission rooted in community service, the organization works to help physically challenged individuals and the elderly enjoy hunting, fishing, and recreational activities. NASA also partners with Wisconsin and Minnesota Departments of Natural Resources, supports like-minded organizations, and promotes youth education in conservation and outdoor traditions.
Equally important is its commitment to a strict non-discrimination and non-harassment policy, ensuring equal opportunity and a welcoming environment for volunteers and participants alike.
NASA’s impact has not gone unnoticed. The organization has received multiple honors, including New Organization of the Year and Outstanding Project Award from the La Crosse County Conservation Alliance, as well as recognition from the Wisconsin DNR Disabled Advisory Council. These awards highlight NASA’s dedication to accessibility, conservation, and volunteerism—helping make the Coulee Region a better place for everyone to enjoy the outdoors.
