WOMAN ESCAPES FROM POLICE CAR WHILE HANDCUFFED

A wild escape in Michigan ended just as quickly as it began. Authorities say 38-year-old Kendra Aney is back in custody after briefly fleeing police in Muskegon Heights over the weekend.

Video from Saturday shows Aney, handcuffed in the back of a patrol vehicle, squeezing through a partially open window before dropping to the ground and running off. She had been arrested earlier that afternoon after officers identified her using a fingerprint scanner and discovered an outstanding parole violation warrant.

Police say Aney didn’t get far. About an hour after her escape, she allegedly broke into a nearby home on Peck Street. She remained on the run for several days before being captured Tuesday morning.

Aney is now being held in the Muskegon County Jail for violating parole. Records show she had previously absconded earlier this year while serving time on narcotics charges. Additional charges, including escape and breaking and entering, are expected.
