ACM Awards 2020 Recap! One for the Books!

Written by on September 17, 2020

The ACM Awards were definitely different this year, however a lot of viewers seemed to enjoy the changes. What did you think? There may not have been a live audience, but there were elbow bumps and masks and lot of great music! What else do we need?!

“15-time ACM Award®-winning artist Keith Urban hosted the show featuring three iconic Nashville venues including Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe.” There were some incredible performances, per usual! Catch the performance highlights you missed here!

From Trisha Yearwood’s heart felt tribute to the country community members we’ve lost in 2020 to Carrie Underwood’s tribute to Dolly Parton, here are some of our favorite highlights below!

One of the biggest surprises was a tie for Entertainer of the Year! What?! For the first time in ACM Awards history, there were two winners for Entertainer of the Year. Carrie Underwood and Thomas Rhett were both honored with the award this year! This is Rhett’s first win in the Entertainer of the Year category, and Underwood’s third win, making her the most awarded female in the ACM Entertainer of the Year category. See their acceptance speeches below.

Taylor Swift returned to the ACM Awards for the first time in 7 years and debuted her song “Betty” off her new album folklore. She did not disappoint!

Overall, we were very impressed with how the night went. The challenges that Covid has presented were definitely not going to stand in the way of making this night special for our favorite country artists! Other than the lack of celebs, and other audience members, sitting in the seats there wasn’t much missing from the event! Click Here for the full list of winners!
