COUPLE CAN’T BRING NEW TRUCK HOME DUE TO BIRD NEST REGULATIONS?

Written by on May 21, 2026

A Kansas car dealership has found itself in an unusual situation after a newly sold Ford F-250 became home to a growing robin family. Olathe Ford Lincoln shared on social media that an employee spotted a mother robin building a nest directly on top of one of the pickup truck’s tires. Days later, the bird laid four bright blue eggs, and now the nest has welcomed four newly hatched chicks.

The dealership says the truck isn’t going anywhere for now. Because active robin nests are protected under the federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act, moving or disturbing the family isn’t an option. That means the F-250 is temporarily out of commission while the tiny passengers grow.

Adding to the heartwarming story, the customers who purchased the truck have reportedly been patient and understanding during the delay, proving that sometimes even a new vehicle delivery can take a backseat to nature.
