Lieutenant Colonel Tou-Fu Vang

Bauer’s Market and Garden center 7am pledge of allegiance shout-out with DUKE today to Lt. Colonel Tou-Fu Vang. Vang was born on Christmas day 1943 in Laos. He was a school teacher and Joined the Lao Army to fight against communist forces in the 1960’s. Since relocating to the Midwest in the 1970’s He has been dedicated to helping Hmong veterans gain recognition as American Allies in the Vietnam War. He was also an advocate for resettlement of refugees from Southeast Asia. Colonel Vang was an Iowa State University graduate, living in Woodbury, Mn. at the Time of His passing. He was 76 years old.
