Gabby Barrett Wins Big at Billboard Music Awards

She was one of the night’s most nominated performers, and won big!
Gabby Barrett took home the 2021 Billboard Music Award for Top Country Female Artist. She was up against some heavy hitters; Carrie Underwood and Maren Morris. Gabby took home a total of three Billboard awards! Click here for the full list of awards and recipients!
“I’m gonna try to keep it together as best as I can…This is a really big deal. This means so much to me,” Barrett said while accepting the award. Gabby shed some tears and shared that her team, “including her father and sister who were with her at the show, have been “working hard for 10 years” during her rise to the top of the country scene.”
In what some refer to as controversial, Morgan Wallen was also a big winner scoring Top Country Artist and Top Country Male Artist. Florida Georgia Line snagged the Top Country/Duo Group award!
The top winner of the evening was Pop/R&B artist The Weeknd, scoring 10 wins! Hosted by Nick Jonas, the awards show was pretty decent with a lot of really great performances. Still not totally back to “normal” yet, but overall it was a great show.
