Stumpy’s Restaurant & Bar: Rushford, MN
When I first moved to La Crosse last summer and was looking for a local place to go get a pizza (not a big pizza chain) the name that I heard several times was Stumpy’s Restaurant & Bar in Rushford. It’s a locally owned family restaurant with a small hometown vibe and atmosphere, and what I think most people look for in a small town restaurant and bar. The staff was very friendly. Judy, the owner and resident of Rushford, was personable and I enjoyed our conversation. She explains what it is about Stumpy’s that people love the most, and about the pizza that was made for me along with other specials.
The deluxe pizza was definitely a hit for me. There was just enough of a mix of vegetables, ingredients and meat with plenty of melted cheese on top which I can never have enough of. They make their pizza’s from scratch including their sauce. I’m more of a thin crust pizza person, but they do have thicker crust options.
