NASCAR driver Connor Zilisch’s latest victory at Watkins Glen on Saturday came with an unexpected twist — and a trip to the hospital.
After taking the checkered flag, Zilisch climbed on top of his car to celebrate the win. But the celebration took a painful turn when he slipped, fell headfirst onto the concrete, and had to be wheeled away on a gurney. Fans feared the worst, but fortunately, the injuries weren’t life-threatening.
That night, Zilisch updated everyone on social media: “I’m out of the hospital and getting better already. Thankfully, CT scans for my head are clear — I just have a broken collarbone. Thankful for all the medics… grateful it wasn’t any worse.”
