REFEREE SAVES COLLEAGUE’S LIFE AFTER THEY COLLAPSED DURING FOOTBALL GAME

During a high school football game in Sylacauga, Alabama, quick thinking and fast action turned a potential tragedy into a story of heroism. Referees Lew Murphy and Joey Shellnut were officiating the Sylacauga vs. Central Coosa matchup when Shellnut suddenly collapsed on the field. Without hesitation, Murphy rushed to his colleague’s side and began performing CPR.

Spectators say Shellnut was resuscitated not once, but twice thanks to Murphy’s lifesaving efforts. One witness, Jimmy Reynolds, called the moment nothing short of remarkable.

Murphy, who also works as an associate at Walmart in Sylacauga, is now being hailed as a hero both on and off the field. Walmart released a statement praising Murphy, saying his actions embody their values of service, integrity, and respect.
