MIKE DITKA’S SIGNATURE SWEATER VEST SOLD AT AUCTION
Written by Jesse Skelley on January 28, 2026
Monday marked the 40th anniversary of Super Bowl XX — a bittersweet milestone for Chicago Bears fans, considering it remains the only Super Bowl win in franchise history. But that legendary 1986 victory is back in the spotlight thanks to a truly iconic piece of memorabilia now hitting the auction block.
Head Coach Mike Ditka’s famous sweater vest — the one he wore on the sidelines during the Super Bowl — is currently up for auction at Goldin.co. As of last night, bidding had already climbed past $82,000, and the auction doesn’t wrap until February 7, meaning that number could skyrocket.
The vest comes with a signed letter from Ditka himself, confirming it’s the exact game-worn piece from January 26, 1986. According to the auction house, this wasn’t some brand-mandated outfit — it was Ditka’s uniform, something he wore by choice and stuck with every game.
And yes, Ditka is still around. The Hall of Fame coach is 86 years old — and his legacy clearly remains priceless.
