If you’ve been looking for an excuse to call McDonald’s “fancy” this Valentine’s Day, congratulations — the internet has provided one. McDonald’s just announced a limited-run item called McNugget Caviar, and yes, it’s exactly as confusing as it sounds.

The fast-food giant is giving away tins next Tuesday through McNuggetCaviar.com, but don’t expect a reinvention of fast food. This isn’t nuggets made of fish eggs or some wild new menu experiment. It’s just regular caviar packaged in a McNugget-branded tin. The company says the salty, savory flavor pairs perfectly as a dipping sauce, which feels like a sentence no one expected to read this year.

If this sounds random, there’s a reason. The idea blew up back in 2024 after a viral video showed Rihanna trying caviar with nuggets. Now McDonald’s is leaning all the way in. Romance, but make it drive-thru.
