PARENTS ON TIKTOK CHEERING “BUTTER BABY BOOM”

Written by on March 9, 2026

The internet has discovered a surprising new parenting trend — and it’s all about butter. Some parents are embracing what’s being called the “butter baby boom,” where small amounts of butter are added to toddlers’ diets as a nutrient-rich snack.

Angela Campbell of Orlando says her 17-month-old daughter absolutely loves butter — especially a grass-fed variety imported from New Zealand. The toddler reportedly asks for it regularly, enjoying a teaspoon several times a week. Campbell says the snack is part of a balanced diet that also includes fruits, vegetables, and protein.

Supporters of the trend believe butter can provide helpful nutrients like vitamins A, E and K along with omega-3 fatty acids that support growth and development. Some nutrition influencers claim it may help with brain development, digestion and even sleep.

However, pediatric experts say moderation is key. Doctors note that while fats are important for young children, butter shouldn’t replace a balanced mix of foods.

For now, the buttery debate continues online — with parents fiercely defending their toddlers’ favorite snack.
