THIEVES STEAL 12 TONS OF CANDY; 400K KIT KAT BARS

Written by on March 31, 2026

A massive candy heist is making headlines across Europe after thieves stole more than 400,000 Kit Kat bars during transit. Nestlé confirmed that roughly 12 tons of the popular chocolate wafers vanished after leaving a production facility in Italy en route to Poland. The stolen shipment was intended for distribution across Europe, but it never made its destination.

In a lighthearted statement, Kit Kat acknowledged the irony, saying they always encourage people to “have a break,” but the criminals “took the message too literally.” Despite the humor, the company stressed the seriousness of cargo theft, calling it a growing issue affecting businesses worldwide.

Nestlé says each bar carries a unique batch code, making it possible to trace the stolen products if they surface on unofficial markets. The company is urging the public not to intervene, but to report any suspicious information to authorities as the investigation continues.
