COVID-19 CAUSING FOOD INSECURITY

Written by on March 16, 2020

It’s been a crazy week for all of us! As we take extra precautions to prevent community spread of COVID-19, it’s clear that these measures will make things difficult for many to earn a living. Think of all the service industry workers who rely on tips as income and now find themselves in a position of food insecurity.

KQ98 Cares proudly partners with the La Crosse Regional Airport to highlight the Hunger Task Force of La Crosse.

Today, The Hunger Task Force serves over 80 meal sites, food pantries, youth programs, and outreach sites in La Crosse, Vernon, Trempealeau, and Monroe Counties. In 2015, over 1,300,000 pounds of food was “recovered” and distributed to these recipient agencies. Their mission is to eliminate hunger by harvesting community resources and being the voice of the hungry.

We encourage you to join us supporting the Hunger Task Force and help your friends and neighbors through this difficult time. We’re all in this together!

Hunger is a daily concern for many individuals in our area.Donations are needed year-round, but especially now.

Your donation of food and money can help us fight hunger in the Seven Rivers Region.
