Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s in your brain more than ever before…”I gotta use hand sanitizer after I touch anything germy.” But be careful, because some of the hand sanitizers can be more dangerous than the germs.
You’ve been living with a bottle of hand sanitizer attached to you at all times so with sanitizing more frequently, it’s important to know which ones are safe to use. Last week, the FDA released a list of 9 hand sanitizers that contain methanol, which can be toxic when applied to the skin or ingested. They recently added another 5 to the list!

The FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend using products that contain at least 60% ethanol alcohol.
