NBC’s Fried Green Tomatoes Series to Star Reba McEntire!

Almost 30 years after the movie, there’s news about Reba McEntire starring in a Fried Green Tomatoes series on NBC!

People says that the series will be Written by Jennifer Cecil. “The hour-long episodic drama is described as a modernization of the novel and movie that will explore the lives of the descendants from the original work, the outlet reported.”

Reba is set to play a present-day Idgie Threadgoode in the NBC series. She will also serve as executive producer “alongside Norman Lear, who was an executive producer on the film, and his producing partner Brent Miller,” Variety reports. No word yet on a release date, but this could be good!
