TWO-HEADED CALF BORN ON UTAH FARM

A rare and startling event unfolded at Dry Lakes Ranch in Parowan, Utah, where a calf unlike any seen in the ranch’s 153-year history was born last Friday. The ranch, operated by Kacie and Reyes Carballo, has delivered hundreds of calves over the years—but never one with two heads.

The situation began when a mother cow went into labor on May 1. As is typical, the Carballos allowed the cow to labor naturally until complications arose. When progress stalled, they moved her into their ranch “hospital” to assist with delivery.

At first, they believed they were dealing with a risky twin birth. However, that assumption quickly changed when one head emerged, followed immediately by a second—yet only one set of front legs appeared.

In that moment, the ranchers realized they were witnessing something entirely unprecedented on their property, marking a rare and remarkable occurrence in livestock history.
