April 19th 1989, 47 Sailors were killed when a gun turret exploded aboard the USS Iowa in the Caribbean. Our KQ98 salute today would like You to remember all 47, but especially Ricky Ronald Peterson age 22 from Houston, Minnesota. God Bless the Friends and Family of Ricky Peterson

Thank you Phil. April 19,1989 is a date chisled into the history of my family. Everything changed, as it so often does, in the blink of an eye. Even after 32 years, the weight of that instant feels heavy in the weeks and days surrounding this time. Thank you for honoring my brother, and all the USS Iowa family and friends left behind in that flash.
