Taylor Swift’s Influence Helps American Swimmer Win an Olympic Silver Medal

Written by on July 28, 2021

We’ve all turned to music at some point in our lives as a way that can inspire or influence us in certain times or situations. It was no different with American Olympic swimmer Emma Weyant.

Emma has been a Taylor Swift fan for as long as she can remember. She even purchased a beach towel at one of Taylor’s concerts she attended that reads “The 1989 World Tour.” Emma says she’s brought the towel to every one of her swim meets since she was nine years old and it was no different last Sunday at the Olympics in Tokyo when she was getting ready for the 400 individual medley final.

Emma’s says as she was walking to the pool she had her music playlist on shuffle, and Taylor’s song “Ready For It” was the last song she heard before the start of the competition. Minutes later, she won the silver medal notching a personal best time of 4 minutes 32.76 seconds.

Congrats and way to go Emma!
