MAN SOLVES RUBIK’S CUBES WHILE SKYDIVING; SETS WORLD RECORD
Written by Jesse Skelley on June 11, 2026
Most people spend their first skydive focused on making it safely to the ground. Ishaan Hadkar had a different goal — solving Rubik’s cubes while falling from the sky.
The 24-year-old puzzle enthusiast recently earned a Guinness World Record for the most rotating puzzle cubes solved during a single skydive. Remarkably, the record attempt took place during his very first jump from an airplane over Oceanside, California.
Hadkar’s first attempt didn’t go as planned when one of his cubes broke apart mid-air. Instead of giving up, he quickly boarded another plane and tried again. On his second jump from 13,000 feet, he successfully solved two cubes, securing the record.
The challenge was far from easy. Hadkar battled strong winds, cloudy conditions, and freefall speeds of about 120 mph. He solved one cube during freefall and another after deploying his parachute.
Already thinking ahead, Hadkar believes he may be capable of solving even more cubes on future skydives.
