A college student hits a half-court shot, blindfolded, wins a school hat

It’s safe to say that hitting a half-court shot, blindfolded in front of hundreds of people is a once in a lifetime experience, right? Anyone can practice, but when it comes down to the moment, being able to accomplish it is impressive.

Last Saturday, the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, was hosting North Dakota State in a basketball game. They held a contest during a break in the second quarter. One fan made a layup and won a hat. Another felt the need to “one up” them and said, “watch this,” or better yet, “hold my beer.” He went out to half-court, strapped on a blindfold, threw the ball toward the basket and sunk it! The crowd went wild!

So what did he win? The school gave him a boring hat with the school logo on it and a gift card! It’s unclear how much was on the card, but it was apparently to the school bookstore which is kind of insulting. Yeah, books are expensive, but that’s all they could muster? What about ten dollars to the concession stand?

If it were me, I’d be like, “where’s my new car?” All kidding aside, he certainly won bragging rights.
