Stockyards Bar and Grill: Dodge, WI

If you’re looking for a place that’s well worth the drive, head to Dodge, WI and check out Stockyards Bar and Grill. It’s about a 40 minute drive from La Crosse. I took Highway 53 to 35, and just passed Centerville hopped on County Road G to J and that’ll lead you into Dodge.

It’s a nicely decorated place with a cozy, small town atmosphere. I met with Melissa (the owner) who was very welcoming and a pleasure to speak with. She’s owned Stockyards Bar and Grill since 2015, and even does some of the cooking. They have about two dozen appetizers to choose from as well as burgers, sandwiches, salads and specialty pizza’s (which they are known for). They offer 7″, 10″ (gluten free), 12″ or 16″ pizza’s, and you can even build your own.

There is plenty of seating, a few televisions, a game room with a pool table and dart board. Also, the outdoor patio sits right on the banks of the Trempealeau River which would be perfect in the summer to enjoy drinks or hangout with friends.

I visited on Thursday with the “special” of the day being a prime rib sandwich. Thin sliced, juicy prime rib stacked high on a toasted ciabatta bun topped with grilled mushrooms and onions. The sandwich was served with Au Jus sauce on the side. I got to pick one side dish and I chose cheesy tater tots which are a favorite of mine.

They have a few options for dessert. I got a cup of Blue Bunny “loaded bunny track” ice cream which was soft vanilla ice cream blended with caramel and fudge swirls, chocolate peanuts and peanut butter.

They do have daily specials which are served from 11am-10pm. To check out their specials, menu options, and hours visit their website here. Also, give them a like and follow them on Facebook for updated information here.

If you’re looking for some tasty food, a great vibe and atmosphere and don’t mind a short drive, make the trip to Stockyards Bar and Grill because “all roads lead to Dodge.”
