WOMAN STRUGGLES TO RENEW DRIVER’S LICENSE DUE TO HER “DOPPLEGANGER”

Written by on April 22, 2026

An Indiana woman’s routine trip to renew her driver’s license turned into a bizarre real-life mystery. Erika Brown, of Anderson, was flagged by facial recognition software at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, which suspected possible fraud. Instead, officials discovered something far stranger—another woman in Indiana who looks almost identical to Brown.

A Fraud and Security Enforcement investigator asked Brown to verify her identity and showed her two photos side by side: her own and that of the mystery woman. Despite having different names and addresses, the resemblance was striking.

After a three-month delay, Brown finally received her new license, but the experience left her curious. Now, she’s taken to TikTok, posting daily updates in hopes of finding her doppelganger. Brown says she’s eager to meet her look-alike and learn more about her life, wondering how two unrelated people could look so remarkably alike.
