SPIELBERG’S “DISCLOSURE DAY” TOPS WEEKEND BOX OFFICE

Alien talk has been everywhere lately. There’s been the the release of government images showing extraterrestrial activity. When those photos finally surfaced, they were largely blurry and inconclusive.
That real-world buzz sets the stage for Steven Spielberg’s new thriller, Disclosure Day, a movie that feels like a throwback to classic alien stories and conspiracy-driven sci-fi.
The film stars Josh O’Connor as Daniel Kellner, a cybersecurity expert who exposes a secret organization called Wardex, which has allegedly hidden evidence of alien visits for decades. Emily Blunt plays a TV meteorologist who suddenly gains mysterious abilities and becomes entangled in the conspiracy.
While critics praise Spielberg’s direction and performances, some feel the film’s emotional ending is overly sentimental. Still, Disclosure Day delivers suspense, mystery, and a nostalgic reminder that the truth may still be out there.
