Prior to Super Bowl Request, Eric Church Said He Would Never Sing the National Anthem

Country will be highlighted at the Super Bowl this year when Eric Church teams up with R&B singer, Jazmine Sullivan to perform the National Anthem. Funny thing is…Eric has always steered clear of this scenario.

Variety Magazine says, “In an interview slated to air Friday on Apple Music Country, country superstar Eric Church talks for the first time about being picked to sing the national anthem at the upcoming Super Bowl — admitting that he had vowed before never to perform it because of the vocal challenge it poses, saying, “I’m not Chris Stapleton.” Fair!

Eric has not met Jazmine, but was blown away by what he heard. “No, I’ve not met her yet. She may be the best singer. I was floored. I’m a fan.” Click here for the full story.

One thing is for sure. We’re fans of Eric and we think he’ll be amazing.
