COUNTRY STAR OF THE MONTH: RUSSELL DICKERSON

Written by on May 1, 2022

Russell Dickerson is not one to let his fans down no matter the situation. Last year he was at the Mighty Howard County Fair in Iowa and the weather was not exactly cooperating. There had been spurts of of heavy rain and early on with more questionable weather on the way. The fair couldn’t even setup the stage fully for safety reasons, but the old saying , “The show must go on!” was in full effect. With a stripped down stage without the normal amount of lights and even a drum riser Russell and his band hit the stage a little early to make sure they got the show in. Russell, wearing a Brooks n Dunn throwback t-shirt apologized to the crowd, but still tore it up all all night.

Russell isn’t just a guy Union City Tennessee that decided to pick up a guitar at some point. He has an education behind it with a bachelor’s degree from Belmont University. He’s been in the business since 2010 and has toured with David Nail, Canaan Smith, and Thomas Rhett with his first single “Yours” being released in 2015. However, it didn’t really take off until 2018. Yours has been rated as one of the best wedding songs for couples’ to add tot their playlist. He followed that up with his hits “Blue Tacoma” and “Every Little Thing” which both reached number one on the charts. The pandemic slowed down a lot of artists but in 2020 Russell put out “Loved You Like I Used To” which was another number one hit. In 2021 he had “Home Sweet” get near the top of the charts at number 11. His next release is “She Likes It” where he teams up with Jake Scott with a slow groove country song with a quiet soulful guitar. You can see Russell Dickerson tear up the stage at Country Boom this summer. Make sure you get tickets so you can see just how much he loves his fans and will put on a fun and exciting show.
