26 YEARS OF POLAR PLUNGE HAPPENS THIS WEEKEND

Written by on March 1, 2024

There are a lot of fun ways to help raise funds for special events and programs. This one has to be the … coolest! Sorry for the pun. Polar Plunge in LaCrosse is the longest running one in the state and they’ve been doing it for 26 years. All the funds they raise go to support Special Olympics right here in Wisconsin. All the funds stay local! The event is being held at Black River Beach once again this year Saturday March 2nd. For this plunge you don’t jump into a hole cut into the ice. Which is good since our mild winter hasn’t really allowed for any ice. In LaCrosse you run in from the beach and then run out. Many will participate once again this year by plunging or simply pledging funds to the cause. WinnMed and KQ98 Cares teamed up and donated $500 to the Special Olympics in support of our athletes competing. If you can, please plunge or pledge to the Special Olympics today by going to specialolypicswisconsin.org.
