Wichita Lawn Care Teams Transform Neighborhood

In a powerful show of community spirit, more than half a dozen Wichita lawn care companies teamed up to tackle overgrown lawns in the Planeview neighborhood Friday morning. Organized at the request of the Wichita Animal Action League (WAAL), the effort was part of WAAL’s Pets for Life program, which supports keeping pets in homes and out of shelters.
Led by SB Mowing and joined by companies like Lawn Buddy and Western Lawn Landscape, crews donated their time and tools to clean up 32 lawns for families in need. “We’re just out here trying to help our neighbors,” said Steve Werner of Lawn Buddy.
The project didn’t stop at mowing. Pest control teams will follow up with flea and tick treatments to protect local pets.
In a heartwarming twist, a litter of eight kittens with serious infections was discovered and rescued. Thanks to these volunteers, lives—both human and animal—were changed.
