LIVE FROG FOUND IN BAG OF LETTUCE IN AUSTRALIA

A routine grocery trip in Western Australia turned into an unexpected wildlife rescue after a live frog was discovered inside a bag of lettuce purchased from a popular grocery store. The surprise find happened in Esperance, a remote town about 700 kilometers southeast of Perth, when New Zealand couple Laura Jones and Billie Le Pine’s roommate spotted the tiny stowaway at their share house.

The small green frog, affectionately nicknamed “Greg,” was still alive and sealed inside the lettuce packaging. The group believes the amphibian likely hitchhiked from eastern Australia, where much of the region’s produce originates. After giving Greg some fresh air, they released him near a local dam.

The grocery store has launched an investigation, calling the incident an isolated case. Experts say frogs occasionally travel unnoticed in produce shipments and note that their presence can actually indicate healthy growing environments. Greg’s unusual journey has now become a social media sensation.
