The House that Inspired “The Conjuring” Movie Is Up For Sale

The house that inspired “The Conjuring” film has just went up for sale in Rhode Island. Gee, I wonder why?

The house is one of the most well-known haunted houses in the country. The 1836 home can be yours for a miniscule price of $1.2 million dollars. The house is currently being used as an overnight rental for ghost hunters, paranormal researchers and anyone else who wants to be spooked.

The current caretakers of the house don’t want to have anything more to do with it after reporting a few “happenings” in the house. After all, it is supposedly cursed and haunted by the ghost of Bathsheba Sherman. The story of Bathsheba is she gave birth to a child in 1863. When the child was a week old, her husband caught her attempting to sacrifice her baby to the Devil. Bathsheba climbed to the top of a tree, proclaimed her love for Satan, and cursed all those who would take her land. Bathsheba then hung herself, committing suicide.

According to the real estate listing, the house has three bedrooms, one full bathroom, a partial bathroom and eight and a half acres of land. Take a look at the listing and virtual tour of the house here.
