TONY’S TRAIL RIDES WITH IRON HILL POWER SPORTS: GENERAL XP 1000
Written by Tony Schultz on October 13, 2021
The last few years the hobby of off road driving has had a huge increase in participants. ATVs and UTVs are being driven more as they become more accessible and trails become built around the country. It’s not a new hobby as ATVs have been around since the 1970s in one way or another. The last year users jumped up even more as folks figured out during the pandemic that a great way to get out and still social distance is to hit the trails with their friends and family. There are several different rides for people to consider and different brands to consider. Maybe you want to ride solo or maybe you need to take the whole family out for a jaunt in the woods. Perhaps you need something that helps with farm work or hunting or something that gets your heart pumping with a little bit of speed. Either way there is something for everyone. I’m teaming up with Iron Hill Powersports in Waukon to show you some of the available rides that you might want to consider when making your purchase.
My first ride was a Polaris General XP 1000 with Stealth Black Pursuit package and I was not disappointed. It has power steering, front and rear cameras, hydraulic dump box, Polaris Ride Command, and a Rockford Fosgate audio system that really packs a punch. I couldn’t pump up the music in the videos due to copywrite restrictions, but trust me. I took it up to Snake Creek Trail south of Kellogg, Minnesota. There are a few different types of trails there although some were closed for maintenance. We had a great ride and really enjoyed the General! Check out the video below for a run down of this great machine and a look at the trails we rode on.
