Swing Bridge Pub: La Crescent, MN
If you live in or around La Crosse and are looking for a place to eat that’s more local without driving a ways, the Swing Bridge Pub in La Crescent is the spot for you. They swung open their doors in the summer of 2019 so they’re still a fresh face around the area. They’re located in the La Crescent Area Event Center as part of the Best Western Plus hotel.
Their menu includes several appetizers such as; flatbreads, nachos, steak sliders, cheese curds, chicken strips and more. They also have the ultimate salad and soup bar available every day that features their homemade soups which is perfect for a lunch option.
I started my lunch by getting the pub pretzels as an appetizer. There were three pretzel sticks in an order served with a side of white queso cheese sauce and a stone-ground mustard sauce. The queso sauce was amazing and the perfect combination for the pretzels which were hot out of the oven.
I was in the mood for a burger and I tried one of the pub favorites, the rodeo burger. It was 1/3 fresh beef patty topped with crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, French fried onion tangler’s, and covered in barbeque sauce. I got to choose one side and I went with their homemade macaroni and cheese. The barbeque sauce was a great addition to this burger and definitely gave it plenty of flavor.
Of course, I had to have dessert. Cheesecake is my weakness and their turtle cheesecake left me with a big smile. It’s made with a graham cracker crust, pecans, chocolate, and caramel drizzle over the top.
They have daily happy hours specials from 3-6pm and offer a variety of wines and cocktails. They are open Tuesday through Saturday from 11am-9pm (closed on Sunday and Monday).
Give them on a follow on Facebook here. Also, check out their website here for a menu, or if you’re interested in catering or events at the Swing Bridge Pub.
