NEBRASKA WOMAN ACCIDENTALLY SHOT BY….A DOG?

A bizarre and dangerous chain of events in Nebraska left a woman hospitalized after a dog accidentally discharged a shotgun from inside a parked vehicle. The incident happened May 22 at a Short Stop gas station in Scottsbluff, where police initially responded to reports of someone being struck by a BB gun. Investigators later discovered the situation was far more serious.

According to police, a truck owner had parked outside the convenience store while a passenger stood near the front passenger door. Inside the vehicle, a dog was in the back seat alongside a loaded shotgun. Authorities say the dog moved across the truck and somehow stepped on or pulled the trigger, causing the weapon to fire through the passenger-side door.

A woman stopped at a nearby red light with her arm resting outside her vehicle was struck by a shotgun pellet. She was treated for a non-life-threatening injury. Police continue investigating and are reminding drivers never to transport loaded firearms.
